OK, back on topic. I got my MINI back tonight with the new head installed. Also got the bad wheel sensor replaced, found (but not yet fixed) the boost & exhaust leaks & repaired the coolant leak (damn it sounds like a POS doesn't it? ).

Anyway, now it's at least drivable to the local club run tomorrow. Didn't thrash it much on the way home, but it's definitely quicker & torquier. More to follow after I spend more time in it tomorrow.

Next is replacing or redoing the exhaust. Leaning towards a new Magnaflow or custom setup. We shall see. Gotta wait on parts for the boost leak repair (it's small, but tossing SES & EML lights). Got lots more stuff to do as I get the time/money. Still have stuff I need to get installed but nothing really major. One of my neighbors offered me use of his tools and welder so I got no excuse not to get stuff done myself now. Man it's good to be home.

BTW, Thanks to Waylen of WayMotorWorks for takin' good care of my MINI and also to Jan for the head and APEXI. I highly recommend them both. Quality vendors & Way is a top notch mechanic (and friend).

Direct quote from Waylon "You need to raise that at least half-inch"

I concur after taking a spin with you on Sunday.

haha das right sucka
Oh man i wanna go for a ride in it now. i bet getting rid of the exhaust leak really made a difference. I say go with the custom exhaust. Ive heard the magnaflow and its really quiet. Although somtimes i wish my exhaust was a little quieter.

Nice Flamez... Honestly, there's no way your car is as dirty as mine right now... It's pretty incredible... It takes talent to get a car this dirty, haha.

Pssssht. Listen to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtUim3IaiNc

It's the Magna we just installed on a car the other night. This is right after we got it all wrapped up and started it for the first time. It's plenty loud and raspy.

ooo yeah, that did sound good. I forgot you have the rmw header. Thats what make the difference. Well you can buy an off the shlef exhaust (magnaflow, quick and easy) or fab up and exhuast which could take a while to get just right. you know. If i was to do the exhaust thing again i would prolly go back and just order one. It took me a while before i even liked my exhaust, haha

Actually I've only got the RMW head (despite Jan's pleas for me to switch ). My header was added with the M62 and is from WayMotorWorks & DDM. I've got a pic somewhere...

As for the sound right now, it's different to say the least. Between the resonator-less JCW exhaust, header and exhaust leak. We'll fix the leak at the cat/exhaust flanges with the new exhaust. First we gotta fix the boost leak.

I'm waiting for somebody to create dirt repellant paint or some kind of dirt resistant force field.

We need pics!! lol. I got mine stuck in mud once, that was messy, opps. lol

Good to see Hannibal up and running again. How are you liking the M62? I had a Cobalt SS/SC before the Mini and they come with the M62.

I'm diggin' it, but I'd dig it more without the boost leak. I'm trying to stay away from getting deep into the throttle until that's fixed so I don't send it into limp mode. I've got an EML & SES light staring me in the face until then to remind me at least.

Hopefully that will get worked out for you soon. Keep us updated on it, that may be a future mod of mine How many psi will you be pushing once the leaks are fixed?

Probably around 16-17psi with more volume, but I may go to a slightly smaller pulley in the future. We'll see where this goes as we refine the setup. It does pull pretty strong, especially as the RPM climbs. Once I start getting it sorted I'm gonna take it to the local drag strip and do a real world HP check.
