Exactly what I was thinking.

So Drew and I took the wheel stand out for it's maiden voyage last night. Held up pretty well actually. Only issue was trying to get in reverse. The armature for the shifter isn't holding well enough to push down on the shifter to get it in reverse. Got a remedy in mind for that though. Snapped one quick pic. So ready for GT5 to get here...

You should still be able to use the triangle button for reverse for the time being though.

Hey, I got a crazy idea; how bout we start doing some GT5 drinking games. Everyone that loses a race does a shot. I figure since we're gonna be able to chat this is gonna be high-larious to hear in action.

I think it should be the opposite. If you win you take a shot. Level the playing field

I gotta find my bluetooth headset.

Got the reverse issue fixed. Just needed a "locking bolt" to hold the armature in place. Bring on the Game!!

Getting home from work early in the mourning, gonna let the PS3 update whatever it has to update, then go to GameStop as soon as they open and pick up my pre-order. 12 hours of impatient hell...

Ordered up this stand for my G25 yesterday:

http://www.simhq.com/_technology3/technology_177a.html

It's adjustable in all sorts of directions and is supposed to weigh 32 lbs with the wheel, pedals, and shifter box attached, so it should be pretty sturdy. Everything bolts rigidly to it, too. No clamping necessary. Unfortunately, it won't be here until next week, so I'll make due with my controller until then. I was thinking about building something but I got too impatient.

Let us know what you think once you log some time on it. That's the one I was looking at.

Yeah I was looking at that as an upgrade from the current Wheelstand Pro I've got. Not that there's a problem with mine I was just thinking of dropping the change for the G27. Supposedly the dimensions are different but other than the plate for the wheel and shifter everything else looks the same...hmmm..

C'mon 10AM!! (why can't my Gamestop open earlier??)
