Anyone tried the one-make A-Spec races under Practice? Do those give any rewards at all? I didn't even know they were there til the other day when I was looking around.

I'd love to try one of those just to see how well they work. Someone should make a controller that works like R/C car controllers with a trigger for acceleration and brake and wheel for steering.

Regarding online play, I haven't played hardly at all because of the reasons you guys have stated. However, I have played some with a group of people that have essentially set up a Spec Miata series. Essentially, everyone is limited to the same mods, so the races are typically really competitive and decided based on driving and, to some extent, suspension tuning. It could be fun to set up a "Spec MINI" series and just plan times to set up a room and race. The trick would be figuring out how to even out the mods between the R53 and the R56 (or any other non-premium MINI people would want to use).

Finally got the Formula GT! I like to drive every car with all aids off. However, I need TC=1 on this one. Took it to Suzuka in the rain and had to turn every damn aid on and still had a hard time staying on track. Fun times.

At any rate as far s the mini series. I'm currently working on an all mini's within one series spec for us. I haven't even started working on folding the classic into the mix and I'm not sure If I'll even have the patience to do so. I've already done about 150 laps of tsukuba in various mini's just trying to negate the difference between r50, r53 and r56. Stay tuned, MU spec mini challenge is on the very near horizon. In the meantime if you're planning on practicing I will say that the r53 and r56 will be very close to stock form where the r50 will simply be carrying far less weight. I'm doing everything I can to keep the cars true to their natural driving characteristics and still even them out. IE r50 = momentum car, r53 and r56 more weight and a touch more acceleration (more than the r50 that is) to make up for it. So in the meantime get your mini's ready. I'd suggest doing nothing more than an oil change and mods that are reversable so that you'll be sure you can use it in our MU mini cup. ![]() |
