Default is it broke?

http://s101.photobucket.com/albums/m...t=fd829977.mp4
i have been noticing some extra creeks and roughness in my shift movement lately, pulled my boot off and found that the white plastic bit that holds the shift lever seemed to be moving around too much. My question is, is this normal and i am just now noticing it, or is it broken?

For how long, has it been getting worse, or should I just let it go.

I dont really drive my car much but it seems like its getting worse. When you just juggle the shifter does it sounds almost like a rattle?

not so much a rattle but a creak as the white part moves around. I looked it up on realoem but couldn't find a price, any one know how much it would cost to replace?

i have the helix adapter on already, and im planning on just cutting some length of the top eventually.

i didn't think any of the short shifters replaced anything but the shift lever itself...

It's still holding. I will probably just hold out till it's completely gone then buy a new oem piece
