Sorry for the horrible quality of this one. I couldn't find it online from my phone but had to share it. I grabbed this from Instagram. I'd love to see a Paceman modified!

They could be light as hell but they " look " just the opposite especially on a small car like a mini. 18" doesn't help the issue either .

Im thinking its the size and being all polished, if they were 17" and had painted centres I think they would look totally different

IMO, it's the design pattern that doesn't mesh. Unlike the R53, the R56 better handles 18"s, but the aesthetics of the wheel don't quite compliment the MINI's lines. Might look better on something with a longer wheelbase.

Stunning wheel, though.

I think in 17 on a lowered MINI, they'd look 10 times better. At that height, with that awkward stance, the 18s just don't click.....especially polished.

For 3-piece they're pretty damn light. Alan is always trying to shed weight where possible when he works on the wheels. It was fun collaborating with them on these wheels and watching it go through the design stages. So much goes into weight, strength, and fitment considerations.

You can always order the titanium hardware option that HRE has as well if you have the dough

They look more at home on the Ferrari for sure . What is the weight ? When I was doing the indoor show thing HRE was our sponsor and I was looking into a set of their " competition series" for track play and the 17/ 7.5 weighed in at 17 lbs and that was with the titanium hardware.

17s? That must have been quite a while ago. I don't think they've made 17s for some time now. I'm sure their competition series has come down in weight since then. I know they've changed their center forging source since then.

I think the Vintage series is around 19-20 pounds for their 18x9. I could be slightly off....it's been awhile since we weighed the set that we had. Obviously that's not competition weight, but for a street 3 piece, that's not all that heavy.

One of the guys we work with now used to make some monoblock 19x8.5's that weighed 15lbs
