The multi-purpose facility will host the most prestigious racing events in the world: the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix™ from 2012 through 2021, and MotoGP™ from 2013 to 2022. It is the first purpose-built Grand Prix facility in the U.S.

Built around a state-of-the-art 3.4-mile circuit track with capacity for 120,000 fans and an elevation change of 133 feet, the facility is designed for any and all classes of racing – from motor power, to human power.

Circuit of The Americas is ideally situated on a 1000-acre site in southeast Austin, approximately two miles from Austin Bergstrom International Airport, with scenic views of downtown

You could probably get cable for a year for less than it costs to attend a race. However, being a veterain of the last two Canadian GPs I gotta say watching on TV is not 1/100th as exciting as seeing it live.

i would much rather come up with the money to see it in person than pay for cable. i have seen a few races on tv in the past but it has been a while

I was at the last 4 GPs at Indy. It's a hell of an experience! TV doesn't to the sounds justice. If you sit in the right spot, you can feel the concussion created when they shift. I can't wait for next November.

Not so fast...
Quote:
Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed that the US GP is on the verge of disappearing from the 2012 calendar – and that nobody holds a contract to run the race.

In essence, the final deadline for any kind of resolution is the FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting in India on Dec. 7.

Speaking to Ian Parkes of the UK’s Press Association, Ecclestone admitted that the race would be dropped if there was no solution in the coming days: “Yes, it will be, for sure, 100 percent.”

Ecclestone also confirmed that Tavo Hellmund’s Full Throttle Productions no longer holds a contract to run the race, because it has been cancelled. Circuit of the Americas' Bobby Epstein has thus been in negotiation over a totally new contract, rather than an acquisition of the one held by Hellmund.
