Default The I have a weird pet thread

We all have cats and dogs. I thought it would be nice to have a place to see what our maybe fur less, maybe feathered, maybe scaly friends were up to.

This is Sam and my new friend Private Idaho, PI for short

shes a people chicken, currently living inside. she doesn't want to leave my arm if she doesn't have to, but she'll be an outside chicken when she gets older. so well see how that goes...

here she is in her preferred roosting spot.

she currently lives in a birdcage...the messyness level in her permanent location is yet to be determined. I do plan on buying a chicken diaper.

My Step Daughter has three chickens as her husband is allergic to dogs and cats. They love them and their eggs! The live in Petaluma, CA so they are outside years round. If I didn't have so much wildlife so close to the house we'd have some for sure.

So, I've never interacted with a chicken in a pet-like matter. Are they pretty friendly? Can you cuddle with a chicken? Do you pet 'em? Scratch 'em behind their erm--earholes?

I love animals, I had a friend with a skunk and always either wanted one or a fox, but I just don't have the time....sometimes my lifestyle sucks.

stop beating around the bush Ivan... we all know the question you're trying to ask.

Do they like peanut butter?

I've heard skunks make great pets. Squirrels are becoming more common, too.

Since no-one usually gets near them most people don't know how really soft their fur is.
