The Golf VI will have three and five door versions, a rumoured cabriolet and of course the GTI which may get a glass roof. A new 1.6-liter TFSI engine is also said to be on the plans generating about 200 bhp, however, the Golf VI is set to get a new entry level engine below the 1.4-liter TSI found in the current generation. According to Wolfgang Steiger, VW's manager for powertrain research, tells the new generation Golf will offer either a 1.0-liter or 1.2-liter engine producing 75 horsepower. A final decision on which displacement will be used is yet to be finalised. It will depend on whether VW management decides on three or four cylinders.
Discuss!!!

Well, as pointed out in the last pic, its already a hit with the ladies.

The 4-door looks a little big, but the interior looks really nice.

nice grille, nice front.

But other than that it looks like a merge of an Audi A3 with a Golf 5.

I might be a bit biased, as you see more Golfs than leaves on the trees around here, but i think it still looks boring.

At least you can tell the difference between a Golf 6 and a Golf 5

looks kinda boring, like the new scirocco which also does nothing for me (perhaps until I see one for real or a modded one)...

I agree, it looks decent, if a bit pedestrian, but the 4-door model looks too wagon-like, they need to do something to keep the hatch-back with extra doors profile of the current Golf sedan.

4 door looks like a mini touareg

As is tradition with VW the interior is pretty nice but the exterior is bland, to be enthusiastic about it. I'm sure once the dubbers get to modding them it'll get better though.

I hold final judgement until a later date.

I'd call it "safe"...

The VW family look is more apparent with this one though.

I think both the 2 and 4 door models will be nice to mod, given the vanilla foundation. Could easily go Euro, Rice, etc. without much concern for having to figure out how to remove original underpinnings.

I like it! The changes to the front end are definitely the best part about it. Plus I would like to find out if those rims are the stock setup or just only on specific versions.

Very cool!

That was kind of anti-climactic for me. Not too excited about it :\
