So the car was named Hannibal by my wife, since it's been regularly cannibalized of parts for her MINI as mine's been modded. It started out as a AB JCW MCS, but has been bastardized to suit my tastes since the wife drove it home for me.
Because I was so short of time when I was out of the country, most of the install work has been done by Waylen of Way Motor Works. Special thanks to Jan, of Revolution MINI Works as well. Also, huge thanks to Griff, Stoo, Tüls, Konky & Drew among others, for all the great pics that I never could have taken. That's what others have said to me. I agonized for awhile on which wheels. I was gonna go with 18's and finally decided on staying with 17's since I like to drive my MINI (I know you know what I mean). Once I went with that, I found these on Tire Rack. Alot of Bimmer's evidently run them since you can get them with BMW centers. I've still yet to see them installed in person. I love everything about them but the weight. Same as S Lites. Go figure. At least they were cheap.

Oh dude, freakin' sweet MINI!! I really dig those wheels, I never thought I'd like 'em (after seeing them only online, though) - but you really set it off. Top job.
I saw your mod-list and you have mentioned the JCW suspension, so I guess my next comment is off-topic, but I would sugest you drop your ride a bit, as we all know here - stance is important (and some may even consider it "everything" )But anyways, from your side-shot picture, the only thing that I would do, personally, is add tints (which is on your "to-do" list) and drop the car 'bout an inch, maybe... So anyways, that's my "personal" adivice. Don't have to follow it... Very clean ride none-the-less, though. Again, top-notch, and welcome! Leo. |

Agree on the lowering thoughts too (I like em' slammed, but want to keep the wheel travel too). I dig the performance and ride of the JCW suspension (the red springs add 10hp), but am planning on swapping it over to my wife's ride and going with PSS9's in the future. Funny thing is, it was sitting pretty low before that first pic was taken. Problem was that the suspension settled after adding the JCW until it jacked the tires (they were the used up set off our other ride thankfully). Right before the pic I added the H-Sport control arms and got an alignment, thus the jacked up look. It offends my sense of style too. You can see it's already settled a bit in the second pic. Thanks for the advice. Last edited by Flamez; 11-29-2006 at 08:35 PM.. |
