Default Excited MINI owner

Hello m|u !

A little background info first:
I purchased a 2010 Honda Insight back in May of 2009. It was my first NEW car and I was pretty excited. I just got my first decent paying "career" job and I was looking to do the "right" thing by buying a fuel efficient reliable car. I've always loved lowered cars so I even put Tanabe lowering springs on my hybrid.... oh yeah. I even put some infamous slipstreams on it as well. Long story short, I took it for it's first inspection and oil change and BAM, got a call from the dealership saying a tree branch fell on the car, dented the roof in and smashed the windshield. They agreed to buy it back because I was not happy to say the least.

Some Insight pictures that I know you will laugh at.

Yes it's lowered... yes there's still wheel gap.

Now back to euro cars. I've owned a MKIV Golf, MKII Jetta, and a B3 Passat.

(I loved that car)

I was itching for another euro car but wanted to try something different. MINI was offering 1.9% financing and I couldn't pass it up. Here's my new toy:

And one with the Mrs.

So, what's next? I haven't even made my first payment on the car and I already have a set of 16x7 + 16x8 wheels and 205/45/16 tires coming in. I will start a garage when the little guy starts to take shape. I'm excited to be apart of a new community and I hope to stay around for awhile. Thanks for reading my novel. Cheers.

Welcome! and nice mini and Love the VW!

now for my little rant.... (sorry.... the insight provoked me)

OOo gowd, i wanted to die when i drove the new insight. Be thankful they took it back. I had to drive one for a while, and i prayed for some one to run me of the road. I call the insight a "Crappy Wedding Gift". Like a wedding gift, it looks great on the out side. But when ur behind the wheel, it like a crappy regift of some stained pot holders from you aunt that lives in a trailer park. Honda Failed on the insight and are all ready redesigning it. I think the car is very cute and had potential.

Our insight has "Sport" mode... I was like WTF.. why? I had to drive it to Vegas and had my foot on the floor most the way, just to keep steady at 70. And big rigs where passing me... it was scary!

I had a Prius rental before and I was like "is this thing on?"

Thanks guys.

Haha, yeah the Insight was dirt slow but that's not why I bought it. I was getting 48MPG easily and would only have to drop about $50/month in gas. I'm doing $30 a week for the MCS...

Cool. Your insight looked nice. I'm sure you will enjoy the MINI. I haven't caught on to the hybrids yet, never found one that was interesting (to me) to drive.

But, it's nice that you took the time to personalize yours and make it more than just an appliance, as most drivers seem to treat them.

The MINI must be night and day. Let the modding begin!
