Default Temp gauge

My temp gauge "for outside". Was showing -40 degrees for about 4 or 5 days, and is now at 122 degrees. I looked through and didn't see anything, does anyone know anything about this. I have an 02 S. I know they have their problems.

Anything would be great thanks
